Władysław Brzeski joins the Board of RICS Polska

RICS Europe appointed a new management board of its Polish branch, with Władysław Brzeski PhD, partner at REAS consultancy, as its member. The new Board will hold office for a 3 year term from 1 July 2011. Along with Władysław Brzeski, the Board includes representatives of Arka Investment Fund, Berlin Group, EC Harris, Jones Lang LaSalle, Knight Frank and PwC.

Władysław Brzeski PhD is a partner at REAS – an advisory company specializing in residential market issues. He is a fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS). A real estate economist with over 30-years’ experience, Władysław Brzeski PhD was educated in Poland, Canada and Sweden. He was involved in the creation of the property professions of appraisers, brokers and property managers – he holds all three licenses and is also a real estate market counselor. In the years 1990-1991 and 1997-2000 he cooperated with Deputy Prime Minister Leszek Balcerowicz. Władysław Brzeski managed municipal real property issues as deputy mayor of Kraków in 1992-94. Between 2003 and 2006 he worked as a Senior Urban Specialist at the World Bank. He has lectured real estate economy and finance in Sweden as well as at the Warsaw School of Economics, the Cracow Academy of Economics and the Jagiellonian University. He served as an advisor in other transition countries, including Lithuania where he coordinated the development of a national housing strategy. In order to promote reforms in the real estate sector, he initiated creation of the Mortgage Credit Foundation and the Cracow Real Estate Institute. He is a cofounder of the European Property Institute (2006). In the years 2008-2010 he also was the chairman of the supervisory board of the Military Housing Agency (WAM).
